enhance their travel experience.
LocalWeb4U
is very excited to provide local content for hi5

and to strengthen the relationship we have established
with Perkins Communications, said Doug Edge,
president of LocalWeb4U.
Perkins
Communications core product, hi5 entertainment is an
advanced Set Top Box (STB), which integrates television
and the Internet. LocalWeb4U has entered into a
strategic partnership with Perkins to provide a local
guide portal for their interface using the LocalWeb4U
Index of local URLs.
Perkins Communications provides a hardware and
software solution to hotels and resorts that offers
Movies-On-Demand, Internet access, hotel or resort
amenities, and a local guide to the surrounding area.
This
relationship will develop an outlet for local businesses
to take advantage of advertising to a very specific
audience, said Jeff Helm, Director of Database
Administration. At the same time, it will definitely
benefit the traveler.
LocalWeb4U
is a communications-based Internet company located in
Anderson, IN. The development of LocalWeb4U is a
collaborated effort of the Applied Research Institute
and the Center for Information and Communication
Sciences Program of Ball State University in Muncie, IN,
as well as the Computer Science program of Ivy Tech
State College at their Anderson, IN campus. On Super
Bowl Sunday, January 28, 2001, LocalWeb4U will become
the easiest interactive resource for people to
communicate within their own community.
