Communications joins Technology Incubator Program

To
ensure long-term success, Perkins Communications has
established a relationship with the Youngstown Business
Incubator (YBI) program in Ohio, joining the Premier
Enterprise Program (PEP).
Since
1996, the Youngstown Business Incubator has provided
qualified start-up companies with no cost or low cost
office space, equipment and technology, and access to a
wide range of high-quality administrative, management,
technical and professional services. Under
a five-year agreement with YBI, Perkins Communications
will benefit from below market office leasing for over
3,000 square feet of office and light manufacturing
space. An
additional 3,000 square feet is available for expansion,
providing Perkins Communications with an entire
office-building floor, in the heart of downtown
Youngstown, Ohio.
"Office
space" includes all utilities and telephone
service, office furnishings, high-speed access to the
Internet, conference room facilities, online research
database access, and office equipment.
Also included are no-cost professional services
from the region's most respected law, accounting and
advertising firms.
The law firms will provide professional
consultation in their respective areas of specialty.
The advertising firms will design corporate
identity pieces and will provide professional
consultation on marketing and advertising issues.
Youngstown
State University and the Youngstown Business Incubator,
located next to the university campus, have jointly
created a comprehensive business development partnership
for select clients of the Incubator.
As a "PEP" company, Perkins
Communications will have access to Youngstown State
University faculty, graduate students, equipment,
facilities, laboratories, and libraries for purposes of
business development and technology commercialization
activities.
By
taking advantage of an innovative technology incubator
program, Perkins Communications has created a
competitive advantage for its products and services,
permitting production of STBs in quantity and assuring
an ability to meet market demand.
